Gallery - Heron's head companion set
The heron's head motif on these fire irons is equally effective in either a traditional or a contemporary setting
Although quite simple and uncluttered in appearance, the heron's head motif featured in this companion set is an age-old classic that incorporates a wide range of traditional forging techniques and actually requires quite a high level of blacksmithing skill to produce.
The heron's head motif is just one of a range of options that we use in our companion sets. Others include a ram's head (pictured elsewhere in this section of our gallery), a knot, a scroll, a loop, or a shepherd's crook - but this is by no means an exhaustive list: we shall be happy to incorporate whatever motif you would like. We can also forge the stand in a different style to take account of where it will be located. Or we can supply the fire irons as separate items. The choice is yours.
Our companion sets are just part of a range of fireside accessories that we can forge for you. These include fire baskets, log baskets, smoke hoods and fire dogs, all of which can be designed and forged to create a cohesive and harmonious overall look.
