The 'Grande Finale' of the official opening of the RAF Association's Garden of Remembrance was a fly past by the Red Arrows
This dramatic electro-polished stainless steel eagle perched on top of the globe is made from over 1600 forged feathers in more than 12 different shapes and sizes and is a large scale 3-dimensional representation of the RAF Association's well-known emblem. Mounted on a black granite plinth about 1m high, the globe is approximately 80cm in diameter and the eagle itlself measure about 150cm from its claws to the tips of its wings, giving a total height of approximately 3.2m.
